Resilient Recovery: toward an inclusive, equitable and resilient Canada

As a subsidiary of the New Brunswick Lung Association, the Foundation for Resilient Health, expands on our work with health professionals, health and environment organizations, and on our expertise in environmental health. The Foundation springboards from this history, trust, and evidence-based expertise, into the realm of promoting the key pillars of resilient health.

As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, we see an historical opportunity to advocate for policy reform in key areas with a goal to reduce the inequities that underlie poor health.

Do you know that countries like New Zealand have shifted their economic structure so that social and financial inequalities are reduced and homelessness is greatly reduced?

Do you know that our future health relies on a biodiverse natural world and if we protect nature spaces that the diversity of living organism increases?

Do you know if we shift our healthcare focus to illness prevention our long-term health care cost will go down and people will be healthier?

Do you know if we take strategic urgent actions against climate change that it will benefit our economy and create many new jobs in the green energy sector?

Do you know that we can achieve this if we work together?

We’re working hard to make change happen. You can help! Donations made through this page will be MATCHED until August 31.

The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the fragility and vulnerabilities of our health and other social systems, our economy, and our relationship with our environment. For many decades the health and wellbeing of Canadians have been compromised by the pursuit of economic growth over social and environmental support systems. We have prioritized material prosperity over ecosystem balance.

As our country comes out of this crisis, let us remember that many of our fellow Canadians are in crisis each and every day, not as a result of the pandemic, but based on generations of inequity that have become the normal in Canada. Let us be aware that the Earth is our support system and that our health relies upon the health of the Earth.

Let us band together and tell our Government that the time is now to invest in an inclusive, equitable and resilient economy for all Canadians. An economy that places equal value on achieve a triple bottom line: social, environmental, and financial, and equitable access for all Canadians.

Our organization is built on the strong foundation of the New Brunswick Lung Association and the Canadian Network for Human Health and the Environment, expanding on our work with health professionals, other health and environment organizations, and on our expertise in environmental health. The Foundation for Resilient Health springboards from this history, trust, and evidence-based expertise, into the realm of promoting the key pillars of resilient health.
